If you have upgraded to Internet Explorer 7.0 either automatically or manually, and are having difficulties logging in to your online access - here are some steps that may be taken to resolve browser issues:
- 1. Install the current patches for Internet Explorer 7.0.
- This can be done from the browser by going to Tools > Windows Update.
- 2. Enable Cookies
- This can be verified from Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Settings, make sure that "Never" is not checked.
- 3. Enable Java script
- This can be verified from Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Custom Level > Active Scripting, make sure that "Enable" is selected.
- 4.Clear Cache
- This can be done from Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Deleted Cookies & Delete Files.
- 5. Ensure that privacy settings are not too high.
- This can be done from Tools > Internet Options > Privacy Tab, the recommended setting is "Medium."
- 6. Add NetTeller (Valley Bank's technical term for our online banking log in page) to list of trusted sites for firewall.
- This can be done from Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Click on the Trusted Sites Icon > Sites.
- Make *netteller.com a trusted site on the browser. (Be sure to include the *)
- 7. If Using a pop-up blocker, add netteller.com to the trusted sites.
- Please note that procedures will vary depending on the pop-up blocker being used.
- 8. CLOSE the internet window and open a new window before trying to log in again.
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER VERSION 7.0 AND MICROSOFT VISTA
We have not finished testing online banking compatibility with Internet Explorer Version 7.0 and Microsoft VISTA. Online banking users who frequently depend on logging into our website to access their account information may want to take this into consideration if they are planning on upgrading to either of these services as they may experience difficulties.
One anticipated difficulty is potential problems downloading with Intuit products (Quickbooks 2006 or earlier). Refer to Quickbooks support web site for more information regarding Windows Vista and their products.
